Hi, I’m looking for a carpenter to make a custom hardwood nosing/edge at the top of my staircase. We’re having a carpet runner installed, but we want the runner to finish underneath the nosing rather than continue onto the upstairs landing.
We’d like the nosing to be as low-profile and seamless as possible, with a small lip underneath for the carpet to tuck into. The finish should be as close as possible to our new herringbone floor. We also have extra pieces of the actual herringbone flooring that you’re welcome to use for the nosing if that works.
